Seaview Elementary School and the Nanoose First Nations are proud to be apart of a new project started by Colleen World, Lawrence Mitchell & Barb Byers.
These people are creating a pilot project for grades 5-7 called a Leadership Group, with an emphasis on culture they plan to inspire self identity, awareness, build self esteem, & team work within the school environment.
There have been a handful of sessions already with a great turnout of children from many different tribes and walks of life; all coming together to work as one.
They plan to build self awareness and respect amongst the leadership group, and also to have the group develop this project for future generations of leaders. They plan to involve the leadership group in many aspects of the schools programming, but also to help new kids attending Seaview to fit in with the rest of the population.
We plan to work cohesively as a unit to build multiculturalism, community awareness, promote unity, eliminate racism, also to build relations with the Lantzville community & the Nanoose First Nation Tribe.
We look forward to stepping into the future with our leaders and becoming a huge success, be on the lookout for our youth to become great leaders!
