Thi Kwasun Youth Group
Thi Kwasun (Big Star) originally started as a Rediscovery Group after individuals finished training at Lester B. Pearson College. Upon returning home and developing camp it was later found out that lack of lands would issue problems for camp development. Not for lack of trying the leaders were unsuccessful in securing appropriate land base to properly run a Rediscovery Camp.
Now, Thi Kwasun has been transformed into a youth group, with a Recreational Center which is located on waterfront side of reserve @ 401 Harvey Rd. This safe environment has housed many programs which include:
- Arts & Crafts
- Homework & Tutoring
- Hosting Youth Conferences / Attending Youth Conferences
- Participated in drum group CD (Xwamxwum Yuxwule) Strong Eagle
- Computer lab w/ internet access, printer
- youth/teen nights
- Language classes
- Sports Days - practices, fun days
- movie nights
- Fundraisers
The leaders have faced many challenges that plague the youth of today, with strong determination and a heart of gold Thi Kwasun leaders strive to provide healthy programming, and a safe environment for our kids to develop the skills necessary to become successful in the future.

Seaview Leadership Group
Grades 5,6,7 - Seaview Elementary School
Aboriginal youth in these grades come together on fridays to participate in cultural leadership group, we've held singing/drumming sessions, language practice, meetings with much more events ready to take shape. This is the first time in many years that a group like this has shaped out of Seaview, and we hope to unite the non-first nation students with the understanding and respect for the many aspects of our beautiful traditions, that we have to share.
This will be the foundation year for program development of this leadership group, and we hope to over the years only make this better and better, with the aid of Barb Byers, Colleen World & Annette Noble we will make this a big success for our youth, and the youth of Seaview!
